Contimplating a purchase: a bedroom townhome in Orange County, CA?
My wife and I contimplating a purchase of a bed of 1, 1.5 bathrooms, 1 car garage, 1250 square foot town in Orange County, CA. This is a new development that is offered at $ 430K. Everything is included, aplliances, floors, carpets, granite countertops, etc. The builder is also offering a $ 75,000 incentive that would be used for a downpaymet + an additional $ 57 billion they have saved for a total DP of $ 132,000. We are first time home buyers with excellent credit and combined income of $ 87,000. Given the incentives, this is the first time after one year to see that you are comfortable with the payment, and was finally able to enter the market. house will be enough room for both of us, but we are considering having children in about 4 years. I am concerned with the possibility of reselling a village house 1 bedroom after 4 years in a depreciation of the market today. Is it worth it just to get on the market? Thanks for your input.
Just something to think about .. In the 90's, I bought an apartment in the Los Angeles area, it also is when the price of the house were falling. Well, it was not until the year 2000, 7.8 years after my house was valued for what I paid for it. I have since sold my apartment, made a good profit, but had not been for the loose lending practices, likely would have still stuck with it. My thought is this market for the worse, so buy something you will be happy with and do not mind living in long time
